Ok, I would like to have the ability to do the following:

The original image (type.gif), I would like to have the ability of adding in text labels (Type_labels.gif), rather than 0,1,2.... When will this feature be available??

Hi William,

This type of work will be done when we address what we are calling 2D graphics. This effort will allow users to annotate and add color bars that will not be affected when an image is zoomed in and out. I'll add your request to have customized color bar labeling to this development effort. At this time I will not be able to give you a definite date for completion of this work.

Rick

Thanks. I know the annotating and adding of color bars that will not be affected by zooming in/out was something else I wanted (i.e. a separate color bar that is outside of the actual image) was something else I mentioned to TomR about adding in as well.

See attached image in lower right, these are satellite retrievals of cloud depth, but I can't really tell what the cloud base is because the vertical scale labels only say 0 and 17 km. It would be nice to have some customization for the scale in between these two limits, i.e. a label every 1 km.

Kris --

In the main window, View-> ViewPoint -> Vertical Scale

Is that what you're after? Labeling is another issue at this point, though...

you'll see in my example that I already have a vertical scale, but only the top and bottom are labelled. I'd like labels and tick marks every km, not just at 0 and 17 km.

I noticed in beta 5 that having written features was still not available. Do you know when/if this will become available?

Hi William-

The 2D graphics package is on our list for after version 1.0, but there is no definitive timetable for when it will be done. If there is funding to do this work sooner, then we can move it up the list. If you have any further questions, just let us know.

Thanks, Jay
